How to Handle FOMO: Because it Sucks.

FOMO, or "Fear of missing out," is something everyone experiences. It's that feeling when you see everyone hanging out or having fun without you, and it sucks, right? You start scrolling through social media seeing posts or stories and feel like you are missing out on something important.

The worst part is, it can make you feel like you're not enough or that you're behind. However, that's not the case. Instead of comparing yourself to others, try focusing on your own moments and the things that make you happy. The things you miss out on don't define you. And it is ok to miss out on things. Building your confidence and embracing time alone can make FOMO have less power. Then eventually you'll realize that you're living your life the way that makes you happy and that's best for you, not for anyone else.

FOMO can really mess with your head and try to trick you. Especially when you're stuck in that cycle of feeling like everyone else is having more fun or achieving more than you are. It's easy to get caught up in the pressure of keeping up with everyone around you. But life's not a race and realizing you don't need to be doing what everyone else is doing to be happy or successful.

It's about perspective. The next time you feel that terrible feeling of missing out, take a moment to think about what you're doing. Whether that is a hobby, spending time with people you care about, or even just you by yourself. Because these moments are valuable too. Find a new hobby! Do something new! Lay in bed eating snacks while watching your favorite show! Color or do crafts! Focus on doing what YOU are doing, not anyone else. What is meant for you will come your way, even if it's not at the same time as everyone else.
